TWO Bruneians, Cheong Kok Liang and Michelle Charlene Basir reached the summit of Stok Kangri, the highest mountain in the Stok Range of the Himalayas at 5.41am on August 21.
Stok Kangri, standing at 6,153m above sea level, is the highest mountain in the Stok Range. It is situated in the Ladakh region of north-west India.
Their eight-day self-funded expedition began in Leh, a high-desert city in the Himalayas, in India’s northern state of Jammu and Kashmir.
This is their fourth and highest mountain summit trip together so far. They previously summited Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895m) in 2012, Mount Kinabalu (4,095m) in 2015 and Mount Rinjani (3,726m) in 2017.
