TO GLORIFY the new Hijrah year, religious events were held across the four districts last night.
In the Tutong District, the celebration was held at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Pekan Tutong with Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar attending as the guest of honour.
Tutong District Officer Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohammad Hussain, Legislative Council members as well as government and religious officers from the district were also in attendance.
The ceremony began with a recitation of Zikir prior to the recitation of Doa Akhir Tahun 1439 Hijrah led by Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque Iman Mohd Fauzi bin Haji Anuar.
The event continued with mass Maghrib prayer, the recitation of Doa Awal Tahun 1440 Hijrah, mass Sunnat Hajat prayer and a Tazkirah by Haji Masri bin Haji Mohamad from the Religious Affairs Department in Tutong.
Shahibol Omar bin Haji Mohd Yusof recited the Sayyidul Istighfar, before the ceremony concluded with mass Isyak prayer.
