Lau Chai Seng in an interview said the store is for both tourists and locals alike, and they hope to promote the Brunei culture to the store’s visitors through props and displays which they can use and take photos with, which will also change from time to time to suit various local themes.
He added that the store also has a performance stage where they hope to get student musicians to play once a week, and that the products they have in the store are all locally designed by Aewon. Lau Chai Seng said they previously opened a similar shop in the Kiarong area, adding that the Yayasan Complex branch offers a bigger venue for them to display more items and attract more visitors.
Aewon Brunei has also set up an ASEAN zone at the Yayasan Complex which mostly showcases their own products aimed to promote ASEAN within the region.
