THE Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) and the Malaysian Army held a cycling event which is divided into two phases from September 17 to 18. The event is part of the programme under Ekspedisi Borneo Siri 02/2018 organised by the Malaysian Army.
The cycling event spanned 103 kilometres. The first phase started yesterday at Sungai Tujoh, Kuala Belait and ended at Kuala Lurah Immigration Control Post. The event also witnessed the handing over of the flag from Commanding Officer of 7th Battalion, Border Regiment, Malaysian Army Lieutenant Colonel Rokaib bin Ahmad to Head of Doctrine, RBLF Lieutenant Colonel Alirudimi bin Haji Perudin. The second phase of the event will start at Puni Immigration Control Post and conclude at Labu Immigration Control Post today.
The event aims to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among both armies’ personnel. It also aims to strengthen ties between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia, and through cycling itself, share their interests in cycling and strengthen solidarity among the personnel.
