THE fourth round of the 15 red snooker singles event of the Brunei National Championship 2018 will commence tomorrow with eight hopefuls looking to extend their pristine run at the Billiards & Snooker Hall II of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
The eight players who sealed their passage featured Md Alias and Md Rahim from Group ‘A’, Hasrijam and Lim Young Wee from Group ‘B’, Md Hazwan and Yii Hung Burn from Group ‘C’ and Pengiran Khairul Rijal and Lim Wei Kok from Group ‘D’.
With the tournament played in a double elimination format, the losers from the fourth round still have life as they will be automatically drawn in the losers’ bracket.
Md Alias beat Muhidi 3-0 while Abd Rahim defeated Ahmad Taufiq by the same score in Group ‘A’ to advance in the fourth round of the winner’s bracket.
Hasrijam and Lim Young Wee also recorded similar wins against Amir Hasan and Malique, respectively in Group ‘B’.
In Group ‘C’, Md Hazwan edged Pengiran Zaini 3-2 while Yii Hung Burn earned his place into the next round after a 3-1 win over Su Ting Fu.
Pengiran Khairul Rijal will be among the names in the hat after a convincing 3-0 win over Md Abu Supian and his result was matched in Lim Wei Kok’s win over Ang Beng Hui.
Organised by the Brunei Darussalam Cue Sports Association (BCSA), the week-long tournament attracted 40 runners.
