THE Brunei History Centre hosted a one day ‘History Outreach Programme 2018’ yesterday at the History Gallery of the centre, in conjunction with the opening of the new history gallery, ‘1959 Brunei Constitution Gallery’.
The guest lecturers Senior Special Duties Officer of the Secretariat Office at the MIB Supreme Council Dr Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong and Universiti Brunei Darussalam Associate Professor Dr Haji Asbol bin Haji Mail presented talks on Sejarah Perlembagaan Negeri Brunei (The History of Brunei Constitution) and Kesan-kesan Laporan Tujuh Serangkai ke atas Pembentukan Perlembagaan 1959 (Effects of Tujuh Serangkai Report on the formation of the 1959 Constitution).
Students from Meragang Sixth Form Centre and Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School (SMALHB) as well as officers from the Youth and Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports attended the lectures.
The event was aimed at commemorating the new History Gallery and educating the public on the 1959 Brunei constitution.
Other activities held included a creative arts mini exhibition, a history quiz session, history theatre and demonstration and a mini competition of making Dastar and Sinjang by the students.
