HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday attended the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed deputy ministers – Deputy Minister of Finance at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin; and Deputy Minister of Development Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin.
The ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman.
Present at the ceremony was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Letter of Appointment was read by Grand Chamberlain Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
First to recite the oath was the Deputy Minister of Finance followed by the Deputy Minister of Development.
Also present at the ceremony were Special Adviser to His Majesty and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa bin Pehin Datu Perdana Manteri Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Ibrahim; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah; Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar; and Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Datin Seri Paduka Dayang Hajah Elinda binti Haji CA Mohammad.
Dr Haji Abdul Manaf was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Finance on September 20 while Haji Marzuke was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Development on August 10.
