THE Brunei Rugby Football Union (BRFU) under-14 team will participate in a rugby tournament and exchange from today until October 9 in Fukuoka, Japan.
The aim of the rugby exchange festival is to grow and develop the game in Asia and to facilitate fostering next-generation leaders of Asian countries and promote their international exchanges through the game.
This event is supported by Fukuoka Prefecture as the host city, Japan Rugby Union as the host union and Asia Rugby.
The Brunei Rugby Union also thanked parents for allowing their children to participate and train for the tournament. Special thanks were also reserved to International School Brunei (ISB) and Jerudong International School (JIS) for supporting the training facilities and providing coaches.
The team will be led by Ken Han as the Vice President of the BRFU and head coach Colin Dickinson of JIS and assistant coach Grant Macpherson of ISB.
The team members comprise six children from ISB and six from JIS – Jonathan Hunter, Jack McCarthy, Muhammad Zaki M Raziq, Austin Greaves, Reuben Brown, Toby Heath, Rynhard Steyn, Frederick Gillam, Jayden Moffitt, Oliver Harris, Daniel Sim and Cameron Smith.
