OVER 40 individuals participated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony held at Kampong Perpindahan Mata-Mata Gadong Mosque yesterday.
Members of the mosque’s Takmir committee, Advanced Al-Quran Class for Adults and Iqra’ Class of the mosque were present.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the mosque’s Bilal Abdul Azim bin Haji Ismail, followed by the recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuha to Surah An-Nas led by Osman bin Haji Ali.
The ceremony continued with the recitation of Doa Khatam by a student of the Advanced Al-Quran Class for Adults Awangku Shari Danny bin Pengiran Tajuddin, followed by the recitation of Tahlil led by Pengiran Tengah bin Pengiran Haji Tejudin.
Following the mass Isyak prayer, the ceremony also saw the recitation of the Dikir Marhaban from all the attendees.
Gifts were presented to teachers of the Advanced Al-Quran Class for Adults and Iqra’ Class. A donation was also presented to a Khatam Al-Quran participant who will undergo surgery overseas.
The ceremony concluded with the reading of Doa Selamat by Bilal Abdul Azim.
According to the mosque’s Takmir committee, apart from attaining the blessings from Allah the Almighty, the ceremony also aimed at encouraging mosque congregants to be active in activities geared towards glorifying the mosque, instilling love for reading Al-Quran as well as fostering closer relations between members of the mosque’s Takmir committee, congregants and youth.
