HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam arrived in Denpasar, Bali, the Republic of Indonesia yesterday for the ASEAN Leaders’ gathering.
Present at the Ngurah Rai International Airport to welcome His Majesty were Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs General TNI (Rtd) Dr H Wiranto SH; and Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam Dr Sujatmiko, as well as other senior Indonesian officials.
Also present to greet His Majesty were Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, and Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Indonesia Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Yussof bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was presented with a bouquet of flowers. His Majesty later boarded a motorcade towards a renowned hotel in Bali where His Majesty will reside throughout the duration of the visit.
The ASEAN Leaders’ gathering will serve as a platform for further engagement of the ASEAN Leaders with the IMF Managing Director, the World Bank President, and the United Nations Secretary General.
The gathering will discuss key issues related to building synergy in strengthening financial stability in the region and accelerating economic development and regional integration, as well as exploring potential collaboration to achieve development goals.
His Majesty left for Bali, Republic of Indonesia yesterday.
Prior to leaving Istana Nurul Iman, a Doa Selamat was recited by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.
Present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar in Rimba to bid farewell to His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Also present to bid farewell to His Majesty were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria; Cabinet Ministers; members of the Privy Council; deputy ministers; Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force; and Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
