PARTICIPANTS of the Young Executive Programme (YEP), comprising 24 officers from various government departments and ministries, recently held a ‘Cook & Share’ project at the Youth Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The project, a Community Service activity under the auspices of the Public Service Department and the Civil Service Institute of the Prime Minister’s Office, was intended as a show of appreciation for local labourers who have worked and toiled under the hot sun.
These labourers are employed by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation and the Public Works Department to keep the roads of Brunei Darussalam free from litter and debris.
Under the theme of ‘Giving back to our unsung heroes’, the participants prepared 250 hot meals which were then distributed to around 15 worksite locations.
Various types of Community Service projects have already been conducted by the YEP participants through their own respective groups, such as the Assalamualaikum Project by the Hexcellents Group, the Mental Health Awareness Project by Mhind Group and the Foosian Project by UNO.
