A CHARITY project was conducted by the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) yesterday in the Belait District, during which a total of $34,250.00 was donated to the Kampong Sungai Teraban Mosque, as well as to 32 underprivileged families from several villages.
The delegation also presented a vacuum cleaner and water jet cleaner to the Kampong Sungai Teraban Mosque, which were received by Imam Haji Omarali bin Haji Husain.
In addition to cash gifts, some daily necessities and food supplies were provided for 32 families who had been selected in a survey conducted by the Yayasan, in collaboration with the Belait District Office at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The charity project was conducted in cooperation with strategic partners of Yayasan, namely the Four Wheel Drive Association of Brunei Darussalam, which provided transportation.
The delegation was led by Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman,
Minister of Education who is also the Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors.
A similar project began in Temburong on June 15, and will be extended to the Brunei-Muara and Tutong Districts, in conjunction with the fasting month.
Also taking part in yesterday’s charity tour was Haji Brahim bin Haji Ismail, the Managing Director of Yayasan; Haji Haris bin Othman, the Belait District Officer; Hasmiron bin Haji Mohd Taib, the Assistant Belait District Officer; and Haji Mohd Mersidi bin Haji Mohd Shara, the Village Head of Kampong Sungai Teraban.
