A LARGE crowd flocked to the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital to witness live the ‘Bermukun’ programme RTB/RTM/RRI 2018 show organised by Radio Television Brunei (RTB) through Harmoni channel yesterday. Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) and Radio Republic Indonesia (RRI) also participated in the programme.
The programme was broadcast outside studio to give the public an opportunity, especially Mukun enthusiasts, to witness the event.
Director of RTB Haji Muhammad Suffian bin Haji Bungsu presented souvenir and certificates of appreciation to Bermukun participants from RTB/RTM/RRI as well as to sponsors who supported the programme.
This year’s programme held specific themes in conjunction with important events such as National Day celebration, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and New Year.
It was aimed at enhancing cooperation, understanding, spirit of unity, brotherhood and friendship between the three radio stations.
The programme was first implemented in 1997 through efforts of RTB and RTM Sarawak, co-broadcast in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, conducted through telephone line.
The recording was first held live in 2000. Meanwhile, in 2012, with the involvement of RTM Sabah, the title of the programme was changed to Bermukun Seborneo.
When RTB became host of the programme in 2014 – another positive progress was achieved with the participation of RRI. The Bermukun Seborneo was known as Bermukun RTB/RTM/RRI MoU Programme.
