HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office as the personal representative of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman yesterday arrived in Alor Setar, Kedah Darul Aman to attend the Coronation Ceremony of His Royal Highness Sultan Sallehuddin ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Badlishah, the 29th Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman, which will be held today.
Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses are Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Faathimah Az-Zahraa’ Raihaanul Bolkiah.
Present at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport, Alor Setar to welcome Their Royal Highnesses was Yang Teramat Mulia Dato’ Seri Diraja Tan Sri Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Badlishah, Tunku Bendahara of Kedah.
Also present to greet Their Royal Highnesses were Chief Minister of Kedah Dato’ Seri Haji Mukhriz bin Tun Dr Mahathir and High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia Dato Paduka Haji Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Awang Mohd Taha and his spouse.
Their Royal Highnesses then walked past a static guard of honour mounted by members of the 6th Batallion of the Royal Malay Regiment of the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Camp.
A Doa Selamat was recited by State Mufti of Kedah Darul Aman Sohibus Samahah Dato’ Sheikh Fadzil bin Haji Awang.
Their Royal Highnesses were then boarded a motorcade to a renowned hotel in Alor Setar where Their Royal Highnesses would be residing throughout the duration of their stay.
Earlier, prior to departure, a Doa Selamat was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal.
Also present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar to bid farewell to Their Royal Highnesses were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria; Cabinet Ministers; the Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force; the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; and permanent secretaries.
