LOS Pirates secured victory in the Belait District Futsal Open Tournament held from October 19-21 at the Multi-purpose Hall of the Mumong Sports Complex.
Organised by the Belait District Youth Council in collaboration with the Kuala Belait branch of the Youth and Sports Department, the tournament saw six teams competing in a round-robin format.
The teams were Los Pirates, Al Merez FA, Waris Warriors, LPG FT, Vegrow City and We We FT.
Winners Los Pirates received a trophy as well as cash prize of BND200, followed by Vegrow City in second and Al Merez FA in third.
Mohd Hazlantul Khairul Zaman bin Haji Osman was named the Most Valuable Player.
Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Liang Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin presented the prizes.
The tournament aimed to showcase skills and talents of local youth across the country and scout players with high potential to be absorbed into the country’s national side.
