THE Institute of Mechanical Engineers Brunei Group (IMechE-BruG) recently held a ‘Meet and Greet’ hi-tea session to welcome new members and its newly inducted Corporate members.
The gathering was held at Tarindak Pantai Restaurant in Jerudong.
IMechE-BruG Chairman Haji Salleh Bostaman bin Haji Zainal Abidin acknowledged several members with awards including IMechE-BruG’s Best Final Year Mechanical Engineering Degree award recipient Zul Fadzil and Best Final Year Degree Project recipient Mohammad Hafiz.
The group also acknowledged its two representatives who participated in the regional Speak up For Engineers (SoFE) competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.
Members from the IMechE-Universiti Teknologi Brunei – Student Chapter (UTB-SC) and IMechE-Young Members were also present
The IMechE – BruG was established on February 8, 2017 with some 400 members. Members comprise chartered engineers while some have even achieved the highest level of membership – the Fellowship of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
The group supports the promotion of the development of mechanical engineering as a profession in Brunei Darussalam.
It also seeks to promote the technical and professional development of students/members of the institution residing/visiting Brunei Darussalam as well as provide mentorship and sponsorship for youth in Brunei who plan for progression to Chartered, Incorporated or Engineering Technician status in their careers.
