NINE students and a teacher from Batu Apoi Primary School and nine parents visited the Bangar Fire Station in Temburong District yesterday.
Upon arrival, the delegation was welcomed by Senior Fireman 464 Yusuf bin Haji Jerudin, ABK 498 Md Alli bin Haji Lakim and other fire personnel. Also present was Assistant Fire Station Officer Md Aini bin Haji Muli.
The delegation was briefed on the organisation structure, roles and responsibilities of the Fire and Rescue Department.
They also watched a demonstration on how to wear bunker suit, how to use respiration equipment and how to put out fire.
The delegation also had a closer look at the equipment used in attending to emergency calls and rescue missions.
The delegation was advised to increase safety, practise fire prevention methods and not panic when calling the Fire and Rescue hotline number 995 to provide exact information.
