THE family of the late Pehin Datu Temenggong Dato Seri Paduka Lim Teck Hoo handed over BND52,000 to eight schools nationwide and the Brunei Chinese Chess Association, in an effort to promote Chinese education and culture in Brunei Darussalam.
The donations were presented by Dato Paduka Lim Beng Thai, Lim Mong Kiat and Lim Beng Cheng in a ceremony at their residence in Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB).
Chung Hwa Middle School, Bandar Seri Begawan received a BND20,000 contribution; Chung Ching Middle School, Seria and Chung Hua Middle School, Kuala Belait received BND10,000 each; while Chung Hwa School of Labi, Chung Lian School of Sungai Liang, Chung Hwa School of Tutong, Chung Hwa School of Kiudang and Pai Yuek School of Temburong each received BND2,000.
The Brunei Chinese Chess Association received BND2,000.
Receiving the donations on behalf of the recipients was Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Ong Tiong Oh, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chung Hwa Middle School, BSB.
