HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office made a working visit to Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore yesterday morning.
At the Treasury building, His Royal Highness was welcomed by Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing. A briefing on the Committee for Future Economy (CFE) and Industry Transformation Maps (ITMs) was presented by Director of the Future Economy Programme Office Tan Lin Teck.
The briefing revolved around the efforts in developing Singapore’s economy. It also touched on the challenges and plans in ensuring a positive and more sustainable economic growth for Singapore.
CFE is a committee established in 2016 to help develop Singapore’s economic strategies for the future, that is, to be a vibrant and resilient economy with sustainable growth that creates value and opportunities for all.
His Royal Highness continued the visit to the Devan Nair Institute for Employment and Employability and was welcomed by Senior Parliamentary Secretary Low Yen Ling and Deputy CEO of the institute Gary Goh.
His Royal Highness was briefed about the institute. Devan Nair Institute for Employment and Employability is an institution that helps individual and companies in their professional development and networking through career guidance and job matching services.
His Royal Highness toured the facilities of the institute including the Singapore Bus Training and Evaluation Centre, the Wavelink Maritime Institute and the Career Services Centre where His Royal Highness test-drove a bus simulator and viewed a ship navigation simulator.
His Royal Highness exchanged gifts and joined a group photo session to mark the visit.
Meanwhile, in separate programmes, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman visited the OCBC Aquatic Centre yesterday morning. Welcoming Her Royal Highness was CEO of the centre Oon Jin Teik.
Accompanying Her Royal Highness were Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim, and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah.
Her Royal Highness toured the facilities including the training pool, competition pool and Splash-N-Turf.
OCBC Aquatic Centre offers world-class facilities for various water sports and recreations.
Her Royal Highness proceeded to visit the Northlight School.
Her Royal Highness was welcomed by school Principal Martin Tan as well as senior officials of the school.
Her Royal Highness toured the facilities and was briefed about the school and courses offered such as cooking and bakery courses, workshops and other technical and vocational training classes. Northlight School is a training centre that offers vocational studies.
