THE Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) has inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with seven higher educational institutions in ASEAN during a ceremony held at the Plenary Hall of the International Convention Centre (ICC) last night.
The guest of honour, Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, witnessed the signing in his capacity as Chairman of the KUPU SB Council.
Signing on behalf of KUPU SB was its Acting Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar.
Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, Malaysia; Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia; Kolej Dar al-Hikmah, Malaysia; Universitas Widya Gama Mahakam, Indonesia; Universitas Islam Malang, Indonesia; Institut Agama Islam Al-Falah Asunniyyah (Inaifas), Indonesia and Kolej Pengajian Islam Johor (MARSAH) were represented by their respective representatives at the MoUs sigining.
The MoUs signing hoped to strengthen cooperation in the field of Islamic education, broaden knowledge through people-to-people exchanges, publication in academic research as well as co-hosting international seminars.
The minister also presented academic awards to 20 graduates who have achieved excellence in their studies for the 2017/2018 session.
Among the accolades was the Special Appreciation Awards to students who have helped elevated the institution’s name or contributed to KUPU SB, be it academics or active participation.
