WITH the aim to provide opportunities for single mothers and housewives to support their family, a sewing class at the Youth Development Centre in Kampong Tanah Jambu was launched by member of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman @ Othman yesterday.
Head of the Community and Communication Bureau of RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau Village Consultative Council Fatimah binti Jamil in her capacity as the chairperson of the event said a total of 36 participants comprising single mothers and housewives from RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau, Kampong Serusop, Kampong Manggis, Kampong Perpindahan Rimba, Kampong Kiulap, Kampong Kiarong and Kampong Sengkarai, Tutong had registered for the class.
She added that the class will be assisted by three instructors and divided into Group A and Group ‘B’. Classes will be held every Friday and Sunday for three hours per session.
The sewing class is organised by the Community and Communication Bureau of the RPN Kampong Panchor Mengkubau Village Consultative Council with the assistance from the Brunei-Muara District Office and Youth Development Centre of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
