THE Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) celebrated its 58th anniversary with an Inter-station Tug-of-War Competition organised by the Fire and Rescue Department Operation Branch ‘B’, Belait District at the Mumong Sports Complex, Kuala Belait yesterday.
Acting Director of Fire and Rescue Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said was the guest of honour in overseeing the teams’ performances.
With eight teams comprising officers and personnel from the various stations across the country as well as from the Fire and Rescue Headquarters inBerakas, the competition was also held to help encourage a healthy lifestyle by participating in sporting activities.
The competition was also an opportunity to help further establish close relationship between all FRD personnel from across the country by testing their might and mettle in a series of tug-of-war matches.
The guest of honour presented prizes for the competition winners, which went to Operation Branch ‘B’ team as the overall champion, with Operation Branch ‘C’ team and Operation Branch ‘G’ team in second and third place, respectively.
