THE Survey Department emerged champions in the male and female categories of the Dikir Syarafil Anam competition organised by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) yesterday.
The competition, held in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul celebration 1440H/2018 for Ministry of Development (MoD) and its departments, took place at Betabur Hall of the ministry.
The Water Services Department took second spot in the male category, while third place went to MoD.
In the female category, the Land Department claimed the runner-up spot, while the Department of Electrical Services was named second runner-up.
Guest of honour Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar presented the prizes.
The event began with a welcoming address by Acting Director of JASTRe Aliman bin Haji Ahmad.
A religious talk on Tarbiyah Rasulullah Membawa Rahmat dalam Berkeluarga was also presented by invited speaker Mosque Affairs Officer Pengiran Haji Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar.
The event concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Pengiran Haji Hafizuddin.
Also in attendance were Deputy Minister of Development Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Acting Director-General of Public Works Alice Lim Sui Kau, directors, deputy directors, heads of divisions and unit, senior officials, officers and staff members of the ministry and its departments.
