The Belait division of Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam presented His Majesty with a pesambah in form of a picture card made by the students as well as a personal gift of Madu Kelulut (honey from stingless bee) from one of the parents, Hajah Rokiah.’ In an interview with the Sunday Bulletin, Hajah Rokiah said that the honey came from her own yard, citing bee-keeping as a possible source of revenue which could be further developed in Belait.
The Village Consultative Councils (MPKs) of Belait District meanwhile presented a pesambah to His Majesty in the form of ‘One Village, One Product’ (1K1P) products from six mukims, including Melilas, Labi, Sukang and Liang.
Pusat Bahagia Eric Goh presented His Majesty with a work of Islamic calligraphy inscribed with the words ‘Allah’ and ‘Muhammad’. For its pesambah, Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP) prepared a 12kg birthday cake decorated with a network map of Brunei’s oil and gas industry depicting BSP and Brunei LNG operations, as well as main off-shore oilfields.
During the santap ceremony, a golden ‘Kiri’ (a traditional teapot) was presented to His Majesty by a representative of the Belait District.
The gift symbolises Bruneian cultural and traditional craftware as well as representing the main primary resources which generate the country’s economic growth and development. Arranged around the teapot are four golden cups, representing the four districts of Brunei-Muara, Belait, Tutong and Temburong.
