STANDTALL edged TK Tea House 13-11 to win the Open category of the Chung Hwa Middle School (CHMS) Alumni 3×3 Basketball Tournament on Sunday at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat.
The team comprising all local players namely – Md Zainol, Benjamin Sim, Ahmad Termizi and Jamri Ramlee – proved to be a handful for TK Tea House’s all-Filipino team, which included Apollo Bibat, Elvin Requintin, Francis Barcellano and David Hidalgo Ceriaco.
Benjamin Sim scored six points, with Md Zainol contributing four and Ahmad Termizi added three to win the physically demanding finale.
CHMS finished third place ahead of Persatuan Warganegara Malaysia (PWM) in fourth.
In the Under-16 category, Hana Boyz comprising Mohd Francis, Maverick Raphael, John Earl and Aldeyn Christia snatched a convincing 21-14 victory against Esketiti Wolves, who had Jonathan Lim Seng Wei, Yong Ji Zen, Mikel Sii and Harry Lau.
Shark took third place and fourth place went to Chino Hill.
Chairman of CHMS Alumni Tan Guan Siong, Organising Chairman Chan Swee Hing, along with honorary chairmen Lee Chung Keng and Dr Chan Sui Kiat presented the prizes.
