SC TUBULAR Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd, a Foreign Direct Investment company in Brunei and a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation in collaboration with Mothercare Brunei, gave away infant car seats to 13 parents of newborns in a ceremony held at the Women and Children’s Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital yesterday.
General Manager of SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd Stuart M’Cartney was present with officers and staff from RIPAS Hospital and Mothercare Brunei.
In a brief welcoming speech, the general manager thanked all the parents for coming to the event, highlighting that their presence at the event shows that they have some knowledge on the importance of road-safety for their children, and hopes to send the message to newborn mothers and fathers through this initiative.
“One of the most important resources that Brunei has is not its oil, it is its people, and so this is the first step to protect that crucial and precious resource,” added the general manager.
The presentation of the infant car seats also saw a talk delivered by Mothercare Brunei Retail Manager Benson Kong on the use of the infant car seat to the recipients before concluding the event.
