A WORKSHOP on ‘Power of Family In Recovery From Addiction’ took place at the Health Promotion Centre yesterday.
The workshop was organised by Al-Amin Recovery Management, and presented by its founder and Director Md Fazirul Hakeem bin Haji Md Zenudin, who is also an addiction recovery coach with credentials from the Asia-Pacific Certification Board.
National Anti-Drug Association (BASMIDA) President Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohammad Ali was among those who attended the event.
The workshop tackled the issue of drug abuse and assisted members of the public, particularly families, in providing timely intervention to help loved ones.
In an interview with the Bulletin, Md Fazirul Hakeem said the workshop focussed on parents and how they can teach their children about the issue of drug abuse.
He said, “In the workshop, I’m going to teach how to approach their children in a different way.”
On the event’s aim, he said, “I want to help people to prevent addiction,” adding that “prevention is better than treatment”.
