THE Syababul Iman mosque youth group of Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Kampong Sengkurong recently organised a ‘Mosque Beautification Day’ to mark the Day of Action initiative.
The campaign to spruce, clean and improve the looks and surroundings of the mosque was held at three mosques which were Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque, Kampong Bengkurong Mosque and Kampong Pengkalan Batu Mosque.
The inaugural community project was participated by over 50 volunteers and committee members, mainly comprising youth.
The programme began with a welcoming address by the project’s director Mohd Safwan bin Ramlan before the group went to the designated mosques for the cleaning sessions.
Syababul Iman said the project was hoped to generate a sense of awareness to the community and public in general about the significance of maintaining the overall cleanliness of mosques and other places of worship in general.
The project also encouraged the spirit of cooperation and a sense of camaraderie among the youth.
