BRUNEI Darussalam national team forward Adi Said helped his new club UiTM FC to a morale-boosting 2-1 win over Selangor FA in a pre-season friendly match at the MPSJ Stadium in Subang recently.
The national forward made his fourth appearance for his new club in as many matches having also featured in the 1-1 draw with Kuala Lumpur FA, 3-1 defeat to Pahang FA and 2-0 win against PKNP FC.
Adi’s teammate Mohd Zulkiffli bin Zakaria was among the goals during the victory against the Malaysia Super League outfit as the club stepped up their preparations ahead of the upcoming Malaysia Premier League season.
The forward showed flashes of his qualities after striking the ball from outside the box in the first half but the goalkeeper was equal to the task.
The hosts broke the deadlock after Sean Selvaraj tapped the ball home in the 28th minute after latching to a cushioned header by an import player currently on trial.
UiTM capitalised on a poor touch from a Selangor player and level the scores in the 56th minute before netting the winner in the 82nd minute through Mohd Zulkiffli.
The Lion Troops are currently in Bangkok to play in more friendly matches until January 9.
