Orientation programme to welcome new students

RIMBA Secondary School welcomed its Year 7 students at the school’s orientation programme at its Collaborative Hall recently.

The event began with an opening address by Principal Haji Malai Shah Eran bin Syed Haji Yussof Al-Idrus.

He congratulated students on their recent Primay School Assessment (PSR) examinations success and hoped that they will continue to work hard.

He said 177 new students were accepted into Year 7 classes, and the school has always maintained its focus that the number of students per class does not exceed the acceptable limit.

This is to ensure the quality and standards of education with the prime focus on giving the students the attention they require, he added.

He also urged the students to respect their teachers and to fully concentrate on the subject matter in classes.

He urged parents and guardians to be involved in their children’s studies and activities in school, as this will help all parties in achieving the goals for the future.

There was also a brief address by the Chairman of Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Haji Abdul Ghani bin Haji Md Tahir.

This was followed by important briefings from Senior Academic Teacher Zuraini binti Haji Zainal Abidin and Head Registrar Teo Li Keh.

Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College

PADUKA Seri Begawan Sultan Science College (MSPSBS) recently organised an orientation programme to welcome 359 new intakes of Year 7 at the school’s auditorium and gymnasium.

Principal Hajah Susilawati binti Dato Paduka Haji Muhammad in her capacity as the Chairwoman of the event welcomed the new students along with their parents and guardians.

The event began with the singing of the national anthem and school song, a recitation of Doa and verses from Al-Quran, followed by a speech from the principal who called upon students not to be complacent with their current success, and to continuously improve efforts to achieve further success.

The principal also highlighted that the three-day orientation’s objectives are to give students the opportunity to get acquainted with their surroundings, teachers and new friends in a short period, as well as for parents to understand the concept of formal education that their children will go through, and for prospective students to prepare themselves in facing changes in the transition from primary to secondary education.

The event also saw students taking their school oath and briefing by deputy principals.
