MS ABDB retained top spot in the DST Super League after cruising to a comfortable 4-1 win over Najip FC at the Berakas Sports Complex yesterday.

The reigning holders entered the break with the scores level but forward Muhammad Razimie bin Ramlli led his team to victory after completing his hat-trick in the second half.

MS ABDB attacker Muhd Hariz Danial bin Haji Khallidden marked his Super League debut with a goal late into the second half.

Najip had been on the wrong end of a drubbing multiple times this season but it was easy to ignore their struggles after a decent showing in the first half.

The army personnel broke the deadlock in their return to competitive action after Muhammad Razimie headed home a corner in the 19th minute.

However, the lead lasted for two minutes as Mohammad Faisal bin Ahad slipped through the defence before producing a composed finish.

MS ABDB’s Muhammad Juma’at Rusydi bin Ramlee spurned a golden opportunity to recapture the lead after missing his header from close range following good work by Mohamad bin Sani.

Razimie bursts through the defence on the flanks but his shot ended wide much to the relief of Najip FC’s goalkeeper Mohammad Haziq Haswan bin Wahid.

Mohamad Haizul Rani bin Metusin’s free-kick was on target but it was a perfect height for Mohammad Haziq to parry the ball away to safety.

Mohd Baharin bin Hamidon made an instant impact as a substitute after providing the assist for Muhammad Razimie who nudged his side back in front in the 51st minute.

The Brunei international completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute after a tidy finish past the goalkeeper.

Muhd Hariz Daneal joined the champions during the transfer window at the end of the league’s first round and he opened his account in his first taste of Super League action.

The 22-year-old demonstrated the calmness of a seasoned veteran as he outwitted the defence and coolly slotted the ball home 10 minutes from time.
