DPMM FC marked their DST Premier League debut with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Rimba Star FC at the Jerudong Park Mini Stadium last night.
The Jerudong-based club included Singapore Premier League star Muhd Azwan bin Ali Rahman, Abdul Azizi bin Ali Rahman and Md Azim Izamuddin bin Haji Suhaimi in their starting line-up.
Brunei Darussalam national youth player Abang Hazran bin Abang Hadzman, who joined the team from Najip FC, was named on the bench.
The hosts made the perfect start after Md Hakeme Yazid bin Said scored in the 30th minute before Muhd Haziq Kashful Azim bin Mohd Hasimulabdillah doubled the lead in the 55th minute.
Md Esmady bin Brahim scored an unfortunate own goal to extend DPMM FC’s lead in the 76th minute before Muhammad Bakhtiar Rifa’ie bin Haji Lias completed the scoring five minutes from time.
DPMM FC’s next match will aim for a second straight win against BSRC FT next Tuesday.
The DST Premier League kicked off last Friday with Tabuan Muda enjoying a 2-0 win against Jerudong FC, who were relegated from the DST Super League last season.
BSRC FT also walked away with full points after a 4-2 win over newcomers Rainbow FC as well as Panchor Murai FC who triumphed 3-1 against Seriwira FC.
