THE Career and Counselling Unit of Berakas Secondary School (SMB) organised an orientation for Year 9 students and their parents yesterday at the school’s Anggerek Hall.
According to a press release, the objectives of this orientation were to provide information on the criteria to enter Year 9, the education system and career pathways, as well as to strengthen the bond between teachers, parents and students. It was also held with the objective of helping students explore their own potential and guiding them to the right path for their future.
The orientation started with a welcoming speech by the Principal of SMB Alexander bin Bandang, before continuing with a briefing on the criteria to enter Year 9 and a career briefing entitled, ‘Where Am I? Where Can I Go?’ by the school’s Career Teacher Hajah Noorisda binti Haji Ismail.
A briefing on parenting skills by School Counsellor Hajah Norjinah binti Haji Musa was also held.
