THE Nationhood Unit under the Nationhood and Community division of the Information Department organised its Rakan Remaja Penerangan programme for 446 Years 9 and 10 students of Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School yesterday.
Head of Cluster 2, Department of Schools at the Ministry of Education Haji Metusin bin Haji Jais was the guest of honour.
Head of the Nationhood Unit Hajah Hamsah binti Datu Kerna Haji Jaya and school officials were also present.
Following the national anthem Allah Peliharakan Sultan and the patriotic song Bendera Negaraku, the school Principal and co-chair of the event Haryani binti Haji Mohammad delivered opening remarks.
Assistant Information Officer Mohammad Nurakram bin Noraini @ Bahrain presented the nationhood briefing titled Raja Kita, Menghayati Bendera and Lagu Kebangsaan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The talk highlighted the history of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the national flag and national anthem.
Other activities included a performance from Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School students as well as a quiz .
The programme aimed to promote civic awareness and nationhood among youth towards positive morals.
