Admiral Yutaka Murakawa honoured with RBN Command Badge

HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), consented to award the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Command Badge to Chief of Staff, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Admiral Yutaka Murakawa in recognition and appreciation for his service in enhancing the relations between RBN and JMSDF.

The award was presented yesterday by Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud at the RBN Headquarters in Muara.

Admiral Yutaka Murakawa has been the Chief of Staff, JMSDF since 2016.

He also paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, where both expressed their satisfaction on the warm and friendly relations between the navies of the two countries.

The two sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthen defence-related activities through the exchange of visits, trainings and exercises.

Admiral Yutaka Murakawa also paid separate calls to the Commander of the RBAF and Commander of the RBN First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad.

Admiral Yutaka Murakawa is visiting Brunei Darussalam from Thursday until today at the invitation of the RBN Commander.
