THE Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) yesterday handed over a contribution to the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) in a ceremony held at the Dynasty Restaurant, Gadong.
For the first time this year, RBC held fundraising projects which successfully collected $27,292.58 throughout the month of Ramadhan.
Every $2 spent by each individual customer through their month-long Sungkai buffet during Ramadhan was donated to DANA. In addition, 10 per cent of the revenue proceeds from Ramadhan Bazaar was donated to DANA.
Six of the RBC outlets namely Dynasty Restaurant, Anjung Saujana Restaurant, Seasons Restaurant, Express Fast Food, RBC Outside Catering and Ministry of Finance Cafeteria participated in the DANA contributions.
Apart from generating funds from the Sungkai Buffet and Ramadhan Bazaar, RBC also donated Bubur Lambuk every Friday of the fasting month to in-patients and their family members that accompanied the patients at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital, Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital in Tutong and Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC).
On hand to present the proceeds was a member of RBC’s Board of Directors, Junaidi bin Haji Masri, while receiving the proceeds was a representative from DANA, Haji Puasa bin Haji Jumat, the Assistant Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Witnessing the handover ceremony was the General Manager of RBC, Ahmad Husaini bin Hassan.
