HENGYI Industries Sdn Bhd recently conducted a scholarship signing for 12 Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) students, at its office at The Empire Hotel & Country Club. The signing was for the sixth batch of students.
Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education (MoE) cum guest of honour Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad witnessed the signing, and Chief Executive Officer of Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd Chen Lian Cai delivered the welcoming remarks.
Fourth Batch Hengyi Scholars representative Dayangku Iffah Haziqah binti Pengiran Mohamad delivered a speech, followed by a video presentation.
Hengyi Industries established a joint Chemical & Process Engineering Scholarship Programme with UBD and Zhejiang University to sponsor students to undertake part of their academic studies and industrial training at Zhejiang University for one-and-a-half years.
The scholars will gain first-hand experience of working in a real life production plant by undergoing six months of internship at Hengyi’s petrochemical sites in China. Upon completion, the 12 scholars will be offered positions at Hengyi Industries.
Hengyi Industries has 68 scholars from Batch 1 to 5.
