MUKIM Berakas ‘A’ Zone 1 and Mukim Berakas ‘B’ held a flag-hoisting ceremony to commemorate the 35th National Day celebration at the parking lot of the Datu Mahawangsa Lambak Primary School yesterday.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the Imam of Kampong Lambak Mosque followed by a welcoming speech by Village Head of Kampong Lambak ‘B’ Major (Rtd) Haji Mohd Jair bin Haji Abdul Wahab.
Guest of honour Legislative Council Member and Penghulu of Mukim Berakas ‘B’ Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon presented the national flag to a member of the Berakas Secondary School Sea Scout Troop 1005 and Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School Sea Scout Troop 1063 to hoist the national flag.
The Village Head of Kampong Lambak ‘B’ led the national flag hoisting while the singing of the national anthem was performed by village heads of Mukim Berakas ‘A’ and ‘B’ along with members of the mukim consultative councils.
The event also saw a recitation of a declamation poem and patriotic songs.
The event concluded with a recitation of Doa.
