THE Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam yesterday hosted a ‘Biryani Night’ at BBQ Tonight Restaurant in Kiulap to showcase the best cuisine from the South Asian country.
Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong was the guest of honour.
Pakistani Acting High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Ahmed Ali Sirohey and BBQ Tonight Restaurant owner Naveed Azam welcomed the guests made up of Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps and prominent Pakistani businessmen in Brunei.
Guests were served Sindhi Biryani and Masala Biryani in a buffet style setting, which is typical of a Pakistani restaurant.
Ahmed Ali Sirohey said, there are 36 rice-based dishes popular in Pakistan, half a dozen are Biryani dishes alone.
He urged Bruneians to visit Pakistan to try the delicious street food, noting that the tourists appreciate the quality and taste.
