GHK Motors Sdn Bhd took part in the Semangat Kebangsaan 2019 Recreational Cycling exhibition yesterday, displaying two of its Gran Max light commercial vehicles, including their food truck fabricated by GHK Auto Assembly.
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to view the food truck on display at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien yesterday after participating in the cycle event.
Present at the exhibition setup to explain to His Majesty the features of the food truck was GHK Managing Director Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin.
Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh noted that the company made the move to introduce the food truck to the market as part of their initiative to support the call to help in the development of SMEs and cater to micro businesses that are just starting up in the country.
The first food truck bought and fabricated by GHK, the Casbah London Kebab food truck, also participated in Bandarku Ceria yesterday.
The food truck made its first official appearance at a commercial site last year, and since then business has been going well for them.
The Casbah London Kebab food truck had also operated at other commercial and business premises such as Supa Save, Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd and Hua Ho Tanjung Bunut to provide workers in the surrounding areas as well as the public a convenient way to grab some light food.
Food trucks are the trend now in Brunei and have gained quite an interest among young entrepreneurs who have been inspired by mobile food businesses abroad and want to start their own businesses.
