THE Ministry of Education (MoE) held the closing ceremony and certificate presentation for the two-day School Leaders Convention 2019 at the Chancellor Hall of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) yesterday.
Guest of honour Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman presented certificates to convocation participants and school incentive awards to successful schools.
Deputy Minister of Education Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was also present.
The two-day convention was themed ‘Quality Leaders, Quality Education’ and included a discussion on the MoE’s Strategic Plan 2018-2022, forums on the MoE departments, divisions and units initiatives, and a School Leader Competency Workshop.
The event also saw the School Incentive Award Presentation ceremony aimed at rewarding and acknowledge the efforts of schools showing significant achievements and improvements in the Primary School Assessment (PSR), GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level examinations for 2018.
This Incentive Award began in 2014 as an annual activity organised by the Department of Schools to motivate government schools to be more keen to achieve academic success.
The closing ceremony began with the presentation of the convention’s resolution by a representative of the participants, followed by the presentation of certificates by the guest of honour.
The Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Chin Wei Keh, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Acting Director General of Education Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee, directors and senior officers at the MoE were also present.
