YAYASAN Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Primary School yesterday organised a mini marathon for its students.
Among those participating was Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Abdul Hafeez bin Pengiran Anak Khairul Khalil, the grandchild of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Around 700 students from Year 3 to Year 6 took part in the marathon.
The event began with the singing of the national anthem and school song followed by the flag-off for the Category B and C of the Mini Marathon officiated by Headmistress of YSHHB Primary School Hajah Mariam binti Haji Ladi.
Several other activities were also held for the students at the multipurpose hall of the school.
The event was held to encourage students to practise a healthy lifestyle and get fit physically and mentally as well as to strengthen ties among friends, teachers and staff of the school.
In addition, it also aimed to help students to showcase their talents while representing the school in competitions.
