THE Ministry of Development (MoD) has implemented several procedures to improve disposal of government assets, said Minister of Development Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar.
He was responding to a question from Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman on procedures of disposal of government assets at the LegCo meeting.
The minister explained that the declaration letter of disposal has been implemented and will be presented to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economy as proof that the disposal has been made.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Inspection Board (LPT) will carry out measures to expedite the process of disposing the government property. This includes providing a checklist to ensure that every application received is completed accordingly.
Secondly, it also aims to enhance communication between the government agencies in addressing issues faced such as providing proactive views and advices for disposal of application from time to time.
Thirdly, it aims to enhance knowledge of the government officers and staff on procedures of disposal application through briefings conducted by the Treasury Department from time to time.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy with the cooperation of stakeholders will further review the current process of disposal.
