SOME 50 Kampong Panchor Mengkubau Village Consultative Council (MPK)-registered orphans were treated to a dazzling show of lights at the Hadfa Garden Lighting Festival in Kampong Rimba yesterday.
The event, organised by the Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DPPMB) in collaboration with Hadfa Garden and supported by Higher Hotel, aimed to encourage tourists to visit the country, and to draw locals as part of the school holiday activity.
According to one of the organisers, the orphans were invited to the event to experience the festival and spread joy, as part of their corporate social responsibility programme.
More NGOs such as those dealing with differently abled individuals have been invited to visit the festival.
The festival also offers activities and games.
Food and beverage stalls are also available.
