THIRTY Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli) students were honoured for their outstanding achievements in the Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level examinations for October/November 2018 during an award presentation ceremony held at the college’s auditorium yesterday.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Al-Mokhtar bin Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz as well as Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muhammad Abdul Haffiz bin Pengiran Sura Negara Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad Bey Muntassir and spouse were present.
Guest of honour, Acting Director-General of Education at the Ministry of Education Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee presented the awards.
In her welcoming speech, the college’s Acting Principal Hajah Monaliza binti Haji Abdul Halim highlighted that the school has seen an increase in the number of students attaining at least one ‘A’ Level, with 98.61 per cent of students achieving the result; 94.43 per cent attained two ‘A’ levels; and 80.05 per cent attained three ‘A’ levels – an increase of 10.03 per cent compared to the results for 2017.
A total of 46 students achieved three or more ‘A’ levels, an increase from the 2017 results.
“I hope these results will motivate the current students to compete and attain better results in their future studies,” Hajah Monaliza said.
