THE National Disaster Management Centre of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA)organised a welcoming dinner for participants of the 11th ASEAN-Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT) Induction Course at D’Anggerek Serviced Apartment in Berakas last night.
Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong was the guest of honour.
The dinner was also attended by Permanent Secretary (Safety, Welfare and Law) at the MoHA Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud as well as Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the MoHA, Executive Director of the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre) Adelina Kamal, Director of the National Disaster Management Centre of Brunei Darussalam and senior government officials.
During the dinner, the participants had the opportunity to interact more closely with the minister in his capacity as Chairman of the National Disaster Council.
The dinner not only enhanced long-standing ties between Brunei Darussalam and ASEAN member countries, but also strengthened cooperation among ASEAN member countries and other entities to equally realise the mission of ‘One ASEAN , One Response’ in disaster management.
This year, Brunei Darussalam hosts the ASEAN-ERAT Induction Course from April 7-15.
