DOG owners of Kampong Bunut Perpindahan have been advised to ensure they are in control over their pets to ensure the safety of village residents.
This request was made during a meeting with the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and Neighbourhood Watch members at the residence of the Village Head of Kampong Bunut Perpindahan to iron out issues of stray dogs in the areas.
Following a meeting with the Deputy Chairperson of the Kampong Tungku Neighbourhood Watch, the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Central Police Station’s Neighbourhood Watch Unit with members of the village’s Neighbourhood Watch conducted patrols along Kampong Tungku and Kampong Katok, concentrated around the areas of an electrical sub-station. Several electrical cables were found damaged.
The Berakas Police Station also visited the Acting Village Head of Kampong Orang Kaya Besar Imas and Pulaie to discuss Neighbourhood Watch activities and the recruitment of more village youth into the programme.
Crime patrols were also conducted jointly by the Muara Police Station and RPN Kampong Meragang Neighbourhood Watch; Limau Manis Police Station with the Kampong Masin Neighbourhood Watch; Bangar Police Station and Kampong Puni and Ujong Jalan Neighbourhood Watch and the Sungai Liang Police Station and Labi Police Station in Belait with the Kampong Sungai Liang and Kampong Bikit Sawat Neighbourhood Watch groups.
Dozens were involved in the patrols, though no criminal activities were detected.
The police said the programme will continue to be carried out to help stamp out immoral activities and safeguard the harmony of communities.
Neighbourhood Watch activities between villages and the RBPF continued to be proactive in promoting the responsibility and collective effort to combat criminal activities from grassroots levels.
Over the last weekend, several crime patrols and meetings were held in different areas across the country as the programme becomes more visible and active.
