WITH the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, two Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) senior officers were promoted at the Officers’ Mess, Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy 342 Captain Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Suhaily was promoted to First Admiral, while Director of Intelligence at the Ministry of Defence 413 Colonel (U) Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim was promoted to Brigadier General.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, former RBAF commanders, members of Defence Executive Committee, services commanders, commandants, defence advisers and attaches based in Brunei Darussalam, directors, senior RBAF officers whom are either retired or still in service, officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF and family members were also present.
The insignias presentation ceremony was led by Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.
The ceremony was blessed with a Doa Selamat by Head of RBAF Religious Department (JAMAAT) Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim.
