UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) has further strengthened its establishment as an internationally recognised Islamic university by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Electronic University (SEU) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The UNISSA delegation led by Dean of the Faculty of Arabic Language Associate Professor Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad in her capacity as the representative of UNISSA Rector was welcomed by SEU Rector Professor Ibraheem bin Abdul Aziz Abdullah Almuaqel. They both signed the MoU on behalf of their universities.
Secretary II from the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Saudi Arabia Mohammad Joehimie bin Anuar and Head of Arabic Department for Non-Speakers Professor Abdulmohsen S Aloqaili were also present at the signing ceremony.
The signing was the first initiative taken by UNISSA with other higher learning institution in Saudi Arabia. Several strategic collaborations can now be realised especially in the field of online Arabic Language studies.
UNISSA now has full access in using the free Arabic Language programme offered by 16 levels for the use of Arabic Language instruction at UNISSA. At the same time, the SEU offers free Arabic Language exams as well.
It is hoped that this strategic partnership will help UNISSA improve the effectiveness of Arabic teaching and learning in this country via online as medium, and further enhance the International Test System of Arabic Language, Arabic Language Test and Arabic Language Empowerment Programme which is currently being run by UNISSA through the Faculty of Arabic Language.
