RIPAS Hospital launches breastfeeding supporter group

AS AN initiative to exclusively promote breastfeeding, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital has established Solihah, a breastfeeding supporter group.

The launch of the supporter group was held yesterday at the Women and Children’s Centre of RIPAS Hospital and officiated by Malai Norain binti Sheikh Mohammad, the Head of Administration and Operations Management II, as the representative of the CEO of RIPAS Hospital.

Earlier, Associate Professor Dr Hajah Roselina binti Dato Paduka Haji Yaakub, Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology, delivered her welcoming remarks.

At the event, badges for members of the group were distributed by a representative of the CEO, followed by an sharing session from mothers who have successfully implemented exclusive breastfeeding among expectant mothers.

Solihah is handled by RIPAS Hospital and involve individuals who play an active role in promoting, supporting and protecting breastfeeding.

The group is also a point of reference for mothers in overcoming breastfeeding problems or to seek advice and counselling services.

Members of this group are ready to assist mothers and their partners in addressing problems encountered in the phase of breastfeeding their infants.

The group is made up of consultant and specialist paediatricians, and neonatology paediatrics; medical officers; officers and staff of RIPAS Hospital; nurses and midwives; and mothers who are successful in breastfeeding. They can be contacted at any time via phone or by making an appointment.

Breastfeeding problems can come in many forms and mothers should not worry, for every problem has a solution.
